Week 5

 A Hero's Journey 

This week was very cool and interesting to learn about just like the hard work that goes into being an entrepreneur and how a lot of people don't make it and how not everyone is going to be a rockstar with what they are doing. I love the positive attitude of loved ones always saying that you can do something but there is always that realization that some thing may not work out and kind of being that realist behind those types of things is what I can get behind. The more we look at life like a challenge instead of something easy the more likely we are able to succeed because we are going to take every opportunity and learn from it the best that we can, not only that but we are also going to approach it with a mindset where we know it is a challenge and something that we have to overcome and then we will be ready for whatever comes our way. I really liked when they talked about finding our passions and how we can find work based off of those things. I really like it when he said that we just have to match opportunities up with passions because when we do that we realize more fully our passion and also that we can be doing something that we love and that we are passionate about but we have to be in an active search of those opportunities in order to find them. We must be willing to persevere through everything though, like I mentioned earlier not only do we have to approach things with a mindset of willingness but we also have to keep going when things get hard because if we just give up then that will be what we are known for and also that will be the farthest we can ever make it. So the big ideas from this week were definitely to be ready for life's challenges and also to persevere to the end.

Week 2 Journal Entry

 Week 2  I think the reason that Randy Pausch was able to accomplish so many of his childhood dreams is because he had people in his life who believed in him. For example, at the end of his speech he told parents to give some freedom to their kids, meaning let them be creative let them expound on their ideas so they can see that they have these ideas that can be master pieces. Like his parents did for him, he was able to draw math equations on his walls he had the ability to expound in his ideas and with that came more creativity and positivity in his life. With a simple dream he was able to take it and make it into something that he loves doing and that where our dreams come into play.  I do feel like dreaming is important because when we dream, we are setting ourselves up for opportunity and growth that we wouldn't find anywhere else. Week 1

 Week 1       There were quite a few things that I really liked from this week's study material but one thing in specific to start with was President Hinkley's talk that we listened to. It was very inspirational seeing the love and devotion he puts towards the students us his brothers and sisters and just how deeply he cared and thought about what he was going to say. When he says that we should not betray ourselves I need to use in my daily life. I feel like I betray myself when I compare myself to others and don't fully look at myself the way God sees me. I feel like if I were to do that then I could more fully understand the plans and responsibilities that God has for me. I think it also pertains to the business side of things because we can't doubt our abilities and ideas because as soon as we do that, we lose faith in the idea and when that happens, we can hardly accomplish anything.       I don't really remember if it is mentioned very ...

Week 3 Journal Entry

 Week 3 Entry: I really liked reading the talk given by Sheri Dew, her words were really impactful especially how she quoted past prophets and how she would use their words as her own. Of course, I am sure we were all touched by the quote "True Blue, Through and Through." It probably made a bunch of us wonder and think about if we are true blue, through and through. I think that for every single one of us that is going to look different and we can all apply it in a ton of different ways. For me being true blue through and through means to always stand for what is right no matter the circumstances. It means that I need to know God's doctrine like the back of my hand and have his commandment at the forefront of everything.
