Week 13
Week 13
One thing that I really liked studying this week was President Monson's talk "An Attitude of Gratitude" in his talk he shares the importance of having a grateful heart, looking back on all the blessings in life, and of course following the example of Jesus Christ. I think one of the stories he shares (the ten lepers) is very important to us because he talks about how only one of them turns around and returns to thank him. This shows that a lot of us in life will just get healed and move forward not giving thanks and just forgetting the power that we were healed by. We must recognize these powerful things and the most important thing is to recognize the blessings that God has given us. As we recognize the blessings and give thanks for them then God will bless us with even more because then he sees we are willing to open them with open arms and recognize where they are coming from. President Monson also shows other areas where we should express gratitude and of course some perfect examples are to give thanks for our fathers, mothers, friends, and teachers. We should express thanks to these people because they care for us and make sure we succeed in life. They help us all at different stages when we need them and the more that we look at our lives the more we can find where they helped us. They at these times have taken on the example of Jesus Christ and his example of perfect love and service. When we serve others we are following his example and we are becoming more like him which is our eternal goal so it makes sense to do it.
