week 6

Week 6  This week was really cool just to learn about all of the different styles everyone has but also those that are successful have a lot of the same rules you could say that they have created for themselves. It shows that the more we go through life the more we realize what actually matters to us and how we can efficiently do do or be around those things/people that matter most to us. One of the common things that I noticed in most of the videos/talks was that everyone said to set a guideline for yourself to follow so that you don't just get consumed by work, they said that you should have this so that you can still hang out with your family and so that you can do what you love. I really like this because the older I get the more I realize just how important my family is and how I need to dedicate more time and devotion to them so that I can live joyfully with them forever. The one professor who talked about not crunching down the thing that are important really stood out...

Week 5

A Hero's Journey  This week was very cool and interesting to learn about just like the hard work that goes into being an entrepreneur and how a lot of people don't make it and how not everyone is going to be a rockstar with what they are doing. I love the positive attitude of loved ones always saying that you can do something but there is always that realization that some thing may not work out and kind of being that realist behind those types of things is what I can get behind. The more we look at life like a challenge instead of something easy the more likely we are able to succeed because we are going to take every opportunity and learn from it the best that we can, not only that but we are also going to approach it with a mindset where we know it is a challenge and something that we have to overcome and then we will be ready for whatever comes our way. I really liked when they talked about finding our passions and how we can find work based off of those things. I really l...

Week 4

Week 4 This week learning about small and simple things is a lot more important than I feel like we all know or care to admit. One thing that I really liked about this week was learning about Christ and just how he applied all the small and simple things in his teachings too. I feel that as we look at Christ's example, we notice that he did all the small things even like pray and worship God even though he is a perfect being himself. I know that as we look at our lives a lot of times, we think we need to make these big drastic changes but in fact we need to make small ones that lead to bigger and longer lasting changes. It is like Alma 37:6 says whereby small and simple things are great things to pass. As long as we are going forward and making these small changes then we are able to bring about these greater changes in our lives. I know that as I have focused on something small like working extra hard on an assignment one week it has brought to pass a better grade in the overall ...

Week 3 Journal Entry

Week 3 Entry: I really liked reading the talk given by Sheri Dew, her words were really impactful especially how she quoted past prophets and how she would use their words as her own. Of course, I am sure we were all touched by the quote "True Blue, Through and Through." It probably made a bunch of us wonder and think about if we are true blue, through and through. I think that for every single one of us that is going to look different and we can all apply it in a ton of different ways. For me being true blue through and through means to always stand for what is right no matter the circumstances. It means that I need to know God's doctrine like the back of my hand and have his commandment at the forefront of everything. It means this to me because as I see it and after reading Joseph's experience when he didn't run and hide but instead went up to the guy with pistol in hand and said that he was quote on quote a "Mormon," true blue means knowing what you...
